University Master's Assistantship - Educational Leadership

RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DESCRIPTION: 

This 20-hour-per-week position requires master's students to assist departmental faculty with research, including conducting library literature searches, collecting and analyzing survey and/or interview data, scholarly writing and presentation, and performing other duties as assigned, such as attending and participating in departmental conferences and preparing presentations. Graduate assistants will seek training through offerings from MNSU's library system, CESR, and CETL related to literature searches, research skills, APA 7, Qualtrics, and others as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Applicants must be admitted to the fall 2025 Master of Science in Educational Leadership cohort at MNSU.
  • A Bachelor's Degree
  • Admitted to a Minnesota State University, Mankato graduate program by start date.
  • Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) graduate credits per semester during assistantship, and in good academic standing.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • The ideal candidate will have university-level work experience, as well as experience in scholarly research and writing.
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.

SALARY/STIPEND: Up to $10,000 plus tuition stipends, dependent upon availability of funds, period of appointment, and assignment. Appointments made after the tenth day of classes are not eligible for a tuition waiver. 

RELATED INFORMATION: 

Minnesota State System policy requires that graduate assistants must reside within the State of Minnesota for the duration of their appointment.
