PIE Internship - Community Outreach and Marketing Coordinator

Introduction

ALEFE, Inc. is an educational 501c3 aimed at using arts, media production, storytelling and other creative means to teach Arabic language and culture to a growing population of native and non-native students alike. ALEFE Bilingual Childcare Center (ABC Center) is a state-licensed childcare center providing care to children ages 24 months to 17 years old.

ALEFE Inc. is currently looking for a community outreach coordinator.

Job description : 

  • Collaborate with founders on marketing strategies and outreach campaigns.
  • Design promotional materials, create social media postings,
  • Support the implementation of marketing strategy by participating in ALEFE outreach effort, tabling events and community activities,
  • Update organization's website as well as manage its email marketing campaign,
  • Coordinate online marketing and advertising campaigns.
  • Assist in writing, editing and proofreading marketing and communication materials for external audience.
  • Plan, prepare for and participate in community outreach and fundraising events as well as team meetings as needed

 

Qualifications : 

  • Marketing, journalism, advertising and communications majors (or related field).
  • Candidates with background in media design and production, photography and video editing are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Social media skills (Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Youtube, Instagram)
  • Web design and SEO skills
  • Experience with Email Marketing software
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Possess excellent communication skills: writing, presenting and interpersonal relations
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Has an interest in multiculturalism and bilingualism

 

Time commitment : 10 hours/ week

Compensation : $20-22/hour

This internship is funded through the Paid Industry Experience (PIE) Program. For questions about PIE, please contact PIE@losrios.edu. Students who can participate in this internship must meet the following requirements:

  • Be eligible to work in the US
  • Be enrolled at least half-time across all Los Rios campuses (six units for spring or fall; three units for summer)
  • Have a 2.0 GPA or higher
