Microfluidics Technical Writing and Applications
Specific skills
- Microfabrication: PDMS soft lithography, MEMS, cleanroom workflows
- Technical writing for expert audiences (application/tech notes, white papers, case studies).
- Data/figure prep: plots, schematics, images (e.g., PowerPoint/Illustrator or similar).
- Basic web publishing (CMS/Markdown) and document formatting.
- Nice-to-have: basic SEO/analytics, LinkedIn posting.
Minimum requirements
- Current PhD student in microfluidics/MEMS, bioengineering, chemical engineering, or related.
- Hands-on PDMS fabrication and cleanroom experience (SU-8, casting/bonding).
- ≥1 scientific publication or preprint.
- Strong written English; ability to explain technical concepts clearly and concisely.
- Proficient with Office/Google Suite and reference tools (e.g., Zotero/EndNote).
Expected responsibilities
- Produce technical notes, application notes, and case studies on microfluidic fabrication and use cases (e.g., cell biology, liquid biopsy, organ-on-chip, point-of-care, drug screening, single-cell analysis, NGS).
- Publish content to the website CMS and LinkedIn; help maintain a simple content calendar.
- Collaborate with engineers/designers; incorporate feedback and iterate quickly.
