Overview
This contract internship provides hands-on exposure to campaign finance, reporting, and compliance support while building practical skills in financial recordkeeping and client coordination. This role is ideal for someone curious about how campaigns operate behind the scenes and interested in learning campaign finance in a structured, supervised environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Enter and maintain accurate records related to campaign contributions and expenditures
- Assist with reconciliation of campaign bank accounts and credit card activity
- Help organize compliance documentation and supporting financial records
- Coordinate with clients to request documentation, follow up on missing information, and clarify transaction details
- Track deadlines and outstanding items to support timely campaign finance reporting
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and internal stakeholders
- Maintain confidentiality, accuracy, and strong attention to detail across all records

Required Qualifications

- Strong online skills, including comfort with cloud-based tools, shared drives, and spreadsheets
- Ability to follow established processes and accept feedback
- Reliable, responsive, and comfortable working remotely
Preferred (Not Required)
- Experience supporting political campaigns, nonprofits, or professional service firms
- Familiarity with basic accounting or reconciliation processes
- Working knowledge of QuickBooks or similar tools
Schedule and Structure
- Part-time, contract position
- Estimated 10-40 hours per month, with potential to grow
- Flexible schedule designed to accommodate academic or early-career commitments
- Fully remote, with preference for candidates available for hybrid work in the Metro Phoenix area
