Marketing Technology Intern (Salesforce Marketing Cloud Focus)

Internship Overview

You’ll move beyond marketing theory and get practical experience with the Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) ecosystem—working with real customer data, segmentation models, and multi-channel activation across Email, SMS, and Mobile Push.

What You’ll Do

  • As a Marketing Technology Intern, you will work alongside CONA’s Marketing Technology, CRM, and Analytics teams to learn how enterprise organizations use data and technology to engage customers at scale. You will:
  • Learn how an enterprise CRM environment works and how customer data is structured for marketing use.
  • Build customer segments using real data and observe how segmentation drives communication strategies.
  • Activate customer segments inside Salesforce Marketing Cloud using Email Studio, Mobile Studio, Automation Studio, and Journey Builder.
  • Support the setup of multi-channel campaigns across Email, SMS, and Mobile Push.
  • Gain exposure to how CONA bottlers use technology to “listen” to customers and turn insights into action.
  • Assist with campaign workflow creation, journey setup, audience targeting, and QA.
  • Work closely with analytics teams to interpret performance results and discuss business outcomes.
  • Participate in documenting processes and helping improve marketing operations best practices.
  • Combine analytical thinking with creative problem-solving to address communication challenges across bottlers and channels.

What You’ll Learn

  • This internship emphasizes real-world marketing technology experience, not just classroom concepts. You will gain:
  • Hands-on experience using Salesforce Marketing Cloud in a live enterprise environment.
  • Practical understanding of CRM-driven segmentation and how it powers personalized marketing at scale.
  • Familiarity with the full marketing activation cycle—from data ingestion to segmentation to campaign deployment.
  • Insight into how marketing, analytics, and IT teams collaborate to reach customers effectively.
  • Exposure to the MarTech career path, where marketing, data, and technology come together.

Who You Are

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Marketing, Analytics, Information Systems, or a similar field.
  • Curious about how real marketing technology stacks operate in large enterprises.
  • Comfortable working with data, problem-solving, and learning new tools.
  • Strong communicator who can collaborate with both technical and non-technical partners.
  • Interested in the intersection of data, technology, analytics, and creativity.
  • A self-starter with attention to detail and eagerness to learn.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

  • Basic understanding of CRM or marketing automation platforms.
  • Familiarity with spreadsheets, data analysis, or simple query logic.
  • Interest in digital marketing channels such as email, SMS, or mobile app messaging.
  • Ability to think analytically and creatively.
