Business Development Intern

Position Summary
The Business Development Intern at the Design Studies Institute will play a vital role in expanding the Institute's reach and building strategic partnerships. You will be responsible for researching opportunities, developing partnership proposals, and supporting initiatives by working both independently and collaboratively with our operations team. This position has a flexible remote schedule with one weekly 30-minute check-in meeting that takes place on Google Meets.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and identify potential partners, sponsors, and collaboration opportunities that align with the Institute's mission and strategic goals.
  • Assist in cultivating relationships with industry professionals and academic institutions.
  • Conduct market research on peer institutions, industry trends, and emerging opportunities in design education and related fields.
  • Represent the Institute’s brand voice consistently across all communications.
  • Other duties as assigned based on Institute priorities and your own creative initiative.

Qualifications

  • You are currently enrolled as a student or are a recent graduate (<6 month) (any discipline; preference for business, marketing, communications, design, or related fields).
  • Demonstrated interest in business development, partnerships, sales, or entrepreneurship through coursework, internships, or extracurricular activities. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to initiate and execute projects with minimal oversight.
  • Able to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Passion for creativity, innovation, and academic or educational environments.
