Internship Overview

Spanglish Events offers a dynamic, hands-on Community Manager internship designed for students and recent graduates interested in social media, community building, and event-based branding.This internship provides real-world experience managing a bilingual, international community through digital platforms and live events. Interns play a key role in shaping the brand voice, engaging audiences, and promoting cultural experiences in Medellín and beyond.This position is ideal for creative, proactive individuals who enjoy connecting people, generating ideas, and working independently in a fast-paced, startup-style environment.

Internship Details

Compensation: This is an unpaid internship. A limited stipend may be available on a case-by-case basis, depending on the intern’s individual needs and academic program requirements.

Schedule Options:

40 hours/week – 4 months

30 hours/week – 6 months

20 hours/week – 8 months

Work Style:

Fully remote or in-person (optional international experience)

Highly independent, self-directed role

Meetings: Approximately 2 meetings per week (virtual) for goal-setting, planning, and feedback

Key Responsibilities

Plan, create, and schedule content for Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp communities using Meta Business Suite.

Engage with the community by responding to comments, messages, and event inquiries in a timely and friendly manner.

Promote weekly and monthly events, including language exchanges, social meetups, and cultural experiences.

Assist with creating captions, stories, reels, and short-form video content aligned with the brand voice.

Monitor engagement metrics, audience growth, and community feedback.

Collect and organize user-generated content from events and participants.

Brainstorm ideas to improve community interaction, retention, and event attendance.

Stay up to date with social media trends, audio trends, and platform updates.

Maintain a positive, inclusive, and drama-free online environment.

Attend required meetings and collaborate with the events and marketing team.

Requirements

Strong interest in social media management, community building, or events.

Fluent in English (written and spoken).

Basic knowledge of Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, and/or TikTok.

Good communication, copywriting, and interpersonal skills.

Organized, proactive, and able to work independently.

Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively.

Experience with Canva, Reels, or content creation is a plus (not required).

Minimum commitment of 4 months.

Because Spanglish Events is based in Medellín, Colombia, interns have the opportunity to complete their internship in person and immerse themselves in a full international experience.

Important Financial Information

Spanglish Events internships are unpaid. In certain cases, a limited stipend may be offered to support interns who demonstrate financial need or whose academic programs require compensation.

Housing, flights, food, visas, health insurance, and all living expenses (for in-person internships) are the responsibility of the student.
