Human Resources Intern

About Us

Franklin Dental Care & Dentures is a high-volume dental practice providing essential oral healthcare to our community. As the only Medicaid provider within a 30-mile radius, we serve a critical role in the City of Franklin and surrounding areas.

We are currently expanding our team of dentists, dental assistants, and administrative staff. To support this growth, we are building a strong, system-driven HR function focused on recruiting, outreach, and operational efficiency.

The Role

We are seeking a motivated student (College Level) interested in Human Resources or Business Operations.

You will work directly within our hiring and operations systems, helping us:

  • Build and manage talent pipelines
  • Expand outreach to students and professionals
  • Support dentist recruiting efforts (high-impact priority)
  • Improve how we attract and hire talent

This role begins fully on-site to ensure proper training. Hybrid flexibility is earned based on performance, reliability, and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Hiring Pipeline

  • Create and manage job postings across Indeed, Handshake, and Workable (ATS)
  • Screen resumes across multiple roles:
    • Front Desk / Administrative
    • Dental Assistants
    • Interns (HR, IT, Outreach)
    • Nonprofit roles, including Director-level candidates
  • Evaluate candidates based on reliability, grit, and coachability
  • Maintain structured candidate notes and move applicants through the pipeline

Outreach, Recruiting & Job Advertising

  • Promote open roles through outreach to:
    • Universities and dental schools
    • Career centers and student organizations
    • Professional and community networks
  • Support advertising strategies to increase visibility of key roles, especially dentist and clinical positions
  • Help identify new ways to reach qualified candidates in healthcare and dentistry
  • Track outreach efforts and follow up with potential candidates

Interview Coordination & Communication

  • Conduct initial phone screenings
  • Coordinate interviews with leadership
  • Maintain professional and timely communication with candidates

HR Systems & Operations

  • Maintain accurate applicant tracking and documentation
  • Assist in refining hiring processes as the organization grows
  • Identify repetitive tasks that can be improved or automated

Additional Growth Opportunities

  • Support additional initiatives across our nonprofit, Bright Smiles Community Outreach, including outreach, event coordination, and community engagement
  • Opportunity to assist in areas such as marketing, content creation, and brand awareness based on your interests

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program (Business, HR, or Communications preferred)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to take initiative and manage responsibilities independently
  • Professional demeanor appropriate for a healthcare environment
