Graduate Assistant - MSU Online (Marketing & Recruitment Focus)

RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DESCRIPTION: 

The Graduate Assistant for MSU Online will assist with marketing and recruitment for fully online undergraduate and graduate programs. Responsibilities include coordinating social media posts for MSU Online with the Marketing & Communications department, coordinating Zoom based information sessions with program faculty, promoting information sessions, and assisting with updates on the MSU Online website and online program websites. The GA will work closely with MSU Online staff along with staff and faculty across the university. The GA may be asked to assist with other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Social media marketing or professional posting experience
  • Experience configuring Zoom for meetings or webinars
  • Advanced technology skills, including the Microsoft Office suite and graphic design software. 
  • The ability to work under pressure and strong attention to accuracy and detail.
  • A bachelor's degree
  • Admitted to a Minnesota State University, Mankato graduate program by start date. 
  • Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) graduate credits per semester during assistantship, and in good academic standing. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to successfully work in a fully remote environment.
  • Professional, reliable, and open to learning new skills and processes. 
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment. 

SALARY/STIPEND: Up to $10,000 plus tuition stipends, dependent upon availability of funds, period of appointment, and assignment. Appointments made after the tenth day of classes are not eligible for a tuition waiver. 

RELATED INFORMATION: 

Minnesota State System policy requires that graduate assistants must reside within the State of Minnesota for the duration of their appointment.
