Choral Ensemble Graduate Assistant - Music and Entertainment Industries

RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DESCRIPTION: 
• Assist in teaching courses in choral and vocal music.
• Assist Director of Choral Activities in development and oversight of choral program.
• Depending on experience, assist with vocal and choral areas and/or accompanying.
• Provide Organizational Support to other musical ensembles or areas.
• Other departmental duties as assigned.
 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • Undergraduate GPA of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale
  • A Bachelor's Degree
  • Admitted to a Minnesota State University, Mankato graduate program by start date. 
  • Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) graduate credits per semester during assistantship, and in good academic standing. 
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Music.
  • Accepted or eligible for acceptance into the graduate program in Music.
  • Piano accompanying skills and experience.
  • Attention to detail, professionalism and dependability.
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment. 

SALARY/STIPEND: $10,000 (for full appointment) $5,000 (for .5 Appointment), dependent upon availability of funds, period of appointment, and assignment. Appointments made after the tenth day of classes are not eligible for a tuition waiver. 
 
RELATED INFORMATION: 
Minnesota State System policy requires that graduate assistants must reside within the State of Minnesota for the duration of their appointment.
