RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DESCRIPTION:
Assists in carrying out KIC recruitment and enrollment operations. The GA will work in coordination with and under the guidance of the Assistant Directors. Assignments include:
1. Act as the International Enrollment Assistant manager, which includes:
1a. Training and mentoring a team of up to 10 International Enrollment Assistants (IEA) on a day-to-day basis
1b. Organize weekly meetings for the IEA team
1c. Creating and maintaining IEA student work schedules
2. Assist the KIC document processor with Form I-20 processing and status checks
3. Support the Assistant Directors in day-to-day operations of the KIC, including updating KIC communications and website
4. Collaborate with the International Recruitment Graduate Assistant on promotional content for international recruitment
5. Other responsibilities as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Bachelor's Degree
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree and be enrolled in a Master’s degree program at Minnesota State University, Mankato by August 2023.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated organizational and planning skills.
- Demonstrated technical ability with the use of personal computers and software including, but not limited to, all components of Office 365.
- Ability to work some nights and weekends.
- Admitted to a Minnesota State University, Mankato graduate program by start date.
- Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) graduate credits per semester during assistantship, and in good academic standing.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working with people from culturally diverse backgrounds.
- Experience with student councils and leadership positions.
- Demonstrated ability to research, create, execute and assess marketing and recruitment efforts.
- Experience collaborating with other campus offices.
- The ability to take direction and work independently.
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
SALARY/STIPEND: Up to $10,000 plus tuition stipends, dependent upon availability of funds, period of appointment and assignment. Appointments made after the tenth day of classes are not eligible for a tuition waiver.
RELATED INFORMATION:
Minnesota State System policy requires that graduate assistants must reside within the State of Minnesota for the duration of their appointment.
