Teaching Assistant - Sport Management (1.5 positions available) - Human Performance

RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DESCRIPTION:
The key position responsibilities include assisting faculty with courses that serve about 275 undergraduate Sport Management majors and/or 80+ Athletic Coaching minors. This may entail helping prepare lessons, connecting with industry partners, and supporting grading. Additional responsibilities include topics such as marketing the program and facilitating research projects.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Admission to Minnesota State University Mankato's Sport Management master's program by the start date.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 for the last two years of undergraduate work.
- Commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
- Effective communication skills.
- A Bachelor's Degree.
- Admitted to a Minnesota State University, Mankato graduate program by start date.
- Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) graduate credits per semester during assistantship, and in good academic standing.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous work experience in Sport Management and/or Athletic Coaching.
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
SALARY/STIPEND: A full-time 20 hours per week graduate assistantship includes a stipend of up to $5,000 per semester. A part-time, 10 hours per week graduate assistantship includes a stipend of up to $2,500 per semester, dependent upon availability of funds, period of appointment, and assignment. Appointments made after the tenth day of classes are not eligible for a tuition waiver.
RELATED INFORMATION:
Minnesota State System policy requires that graduate assistants must reside within the State of Minnesota for the duration of their appointment.
