RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DESCRIPTION: 

The Graduate Assistant will assist in the general operation of Accessibility Resources in providing academic accommodations for students with disabilities. Responsibilities include assisting AR staff in coordinating and providing accommodations, including notetaking services, alternative testing, and academic coaching, as well as general reception duties. The ability to work under pressure and strong attention to accuracy and detail are essential responsibilities of this position.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • A Bachelor's degree in any field.
  • Basic technology skills, including the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Admitted to a Minnesota State University, Mankato graduate program by start date.
  • Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) graduate credits per semester during assistantship, and in good academic standing.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Preference is given to those enrolled in CSP, REHB, and/or MSW graduate programs.
  • Preference is given to those with experience working with individuals with disabilities.
  • Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, skills related to student development, academic success, and disability.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Attention to detail, professionalism, and dependability.
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.

SALARY/STIPEND: Up to $10,000 plus tuition stipends, dependent upon availability of funds, period of appointment, and assignment. Appointments made after the tenth day of classes are not eligible for a tuition waiver.

Potential for renewal of appointment beyond the initial period of employment is contingent upon satisfactory performance and available funding. Appointments will be made from the pool of applicants available at the deadline specified above.
