RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DESCRIPTION: 

Post-Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) provides high school students with access to free college credits. Our office works with 50+ high schools from across southern Minnesota and the metro. The office provides two different opportunities for students to earn credits:

1) Traditional PSEO, students who take courses taught by university faculty or adjuncts. They can enroll in person or online.

2) Concurrent enrollment, sometimes referred to as College in the Schools. Students enroll in Minnesota State Mankato courses at their high school. Courses are taught by their high school instructors and are aligned with the rigor of campus courses.

This position will work collaboratively with other members of the PSEO Office to advance both the PSEO Office’s and University’s missions. Primary responsibilities include:

1) Developing and distributing monthly newsletters to campus and off-campus stakeholders that highlight accomplishments;

2) Designing, distributing, and analyzing surveys to assist in continuous improvement of the PSEO Office;

3) Serving as a success coach to PSEO students;

4) Assisting in planning PSEO events, and;

5) Assisting the PSEO staff in developing more efficient processes, utilizing technology and automations when appropriate.

Additional responsibilities may include:

Website updates, and reaching out to at-risk students in our campus’s early alert system (MavConnect). You may be asked to help at off-site locations which may require some travel. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • A Bachelor's Degree
  • Enrollment in a graduate program at Minnesota State University, Mankato.
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
  • Prior experience with communication and/or marketing events.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Admitted to a Minnesota State University, Mankato graduate program by start date.
  • Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) graduate credits per semester during assistantship, and in good academic standing.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Knowledge or understanding of Office 365, including Power Automate, PowerBi, and Microsoft Lists, or an ability to learn and integrate the technology.
  • Understanding and experience with web design.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.

SALARY/STIPEND: Up to $10,000 plus tuition stipends, dependent upon availability of funds, period of appointment, and assignment. Appointments made after the tenth day of classes are not eligible for a tuition waiver. 

RELATED INFORMATION: 

Minnesota State System policy requires that graduate assistants must reside within the State of Minnesota for the duration of their appointment.
