RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DESCRIPTION: 

The Video & Digital Media Coordinator plays a pivotal role in assisting and supporting the director and students in the video and digital media team. This role involves coordinating and facilitating the pre-production, production and post-production processes and supervising and coordinating the scheduling of student workers and video shoots. This position will collaborate with the IT Solutions Video and Strategic Communications team to ensure the seamless execution of projects.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • A Bachelor's Degree conferred by start date.
  • Ability to work well independently and as a member of the Video team.
  • Attention to detail, professionalism, dependability, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of video and photo editing software such as Adobe CC, including Premiere Pro, Photoshop, After Effects, and DaVinci Resolve.
  • Highly organized with a strong record of working independently, meeting deadlines, and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Efficient, collaborative, and creative video storyteller.
  • Tactful, diplomatic, and inclusive with a positive and supportive attitude.
  • Admitted to a Minnesota State University, Mankato graduate program by start date.
  • Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) graduate credits per semester during assistantship; must maintain 3.0 GPA, and in good academic standing.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Proficient with Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere.
  • Post-production skills and Color Correction.
  • Experience with mirrorless and DSLR cameras, wired and wireless microphones, lighting, backdrops, and related equipment.
  • Experience with video production in education, research, or non-profit settings.
  • Enthusiastic, positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • Experience leading a team.
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.

SALARY/STIPEND: $5,000/semester and 9 credit waiver per semester, dependent upon availability of funds, period of appointment, and assignment. Appointments made after the tenth day of classes are not eligible for a tuition waiver. 

RELATED INFORMATION: 

Minnesota State System policy requires that graduate assistants must reside within the State of Minnesota for the duration of their appointment.
