Graduate Assistantship - Center for Educator Partnerships and Student Support

RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DESCRIPTION: 

To provide assistance with school-university activities that benefit both College of Education students/faculty and P-12 partner schools.  Specific responsibilities include:

Create and coordinate publications promoting the Center for Educator Partnerships and Student Support (CEPSS), such as but not limited to Partnership Magazine and newsletters.

Develop and execute electronic/social media plan for communication including working with the web designer to maintain and update the website and social media.

Attend and provide support for CEPSS meetings, presentations, and courses.

General event planning/scheduling/coordination and relationship building with school and university stakeholders.

Planning and executing special projects as requested by the Director

Other duties as assigned. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • A Bachelor's Degree
  • Admitted to a Minnesota State University, Mankato graduate program by start date.
  • Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) graduate credits per semester during assistantship, and in good academic standing.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Awareness and commitment to advancing the College of Education mission and vision for racial equity and social justice.
  • Experience in marketing, technical writing, and/or public relations through electronic media.
  • Experience with simple publication programs and layout.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with MN State Mankato faculty and staff, school district personnel and students from partner districts.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.
  • Attention to detail, professionalism, and dependability.
  • Experience in an educational setting.
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment. 

SALARY/STIPEND: $10,000/academic year (20 hours per week). Tuition stipend up to nine credits per semester. 

RELATED INFORMATION: 

The Center for Educator Partnerships and Student Support housed in the College of Education at Minnesota State University, Mankato, was established in 1988. It acts as a liaison between P-12 institutions and post-secondary programs involved in educator preparation, and focuses on developing and supporting partnerships between the College and schools/communities. The Center and it's partners launched the Minnesota Educator Partnership which engages schools districts with MN State Mankato to enhance teacher preparation, provide professional development, and advocate for improvements to the education system in Minnesota, from pre-K through college.

Minnesota State System policy requires that graduate assistants must reside within the State of Minnesota for the duration of their appointment.
