Graduate Assistant - Counseling and Student Personnel

RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DESCRIPTION: 

Primary responsibilities include supporting the scholarly and research projects of Counseling and Student Personnel faculty. Duties may also include course support, assistance with accreditation and assessment, marketing, and office support.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • A Bachelor's Degree
  • Admission to Minnesota State, Mankato's Counseling and Student Personnel program.
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
  •  
  • Admitted to a Minnesota State University, Mankato graduate program by start date.
  • Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) graduate credits per semester during assistantship, and in good academic standing.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Skills and experience of various research-related tasks (e.g., conducting literature searches, qualitative and/or quantitative research methods, writing, data entry, analysis).
  • Skills and experience of various software programs (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office Suite). 
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.

SALARY/STIPEND: Up to $10,000 for master’s student plus tuition stipends, dependent upon availability of funds, period of appointment, and assignment. Appointments made after the tenth day of classes are not eligible for a tuition waiver.  

RELATED INFORMATION: 

Minnesota State System policy requires that graduate assistants must reside within the State of Minnesota for the duration of their appointment.
