Graduate Assistant at MSU Edina Location - University Extended Campus

RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DESCRIPTION:
1. Assist with the setup and coordination of events at the Edina facility.
a. Troubleshoot technical issues as they arise.
b. Print event signages and other needed materials.
2. Be present at local community college recruitment events (also known as “tabling”).
3. Support activities related to Edina facility operations
a. Return classrooms and conference rooms to be ready to occupy by cleanup and set- up activities between classes. This will involve some light cleaning.
b. Provide front desk support to staff, students and visitors – in-person, online and phone.
c. Create and upload event schedules to the Edina monitor screens.
4. Monitor Extended Campus mailboxes and respond to or re-direct inquiries.
5. As directed, assist with maintaining and updating the University Extended Campus and Online website pages.
6. Assist MSU staff with various projects related to online marketing, student recruitment and retention. (ex. Data entry and market research, student calling…).
7. Assist with the MavCARD Student ID process.
8. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Bachelor's Degree.
- Detail-oriented.
- This position is based in Edina, MN. Student must be able to work at the off-site location on 7700 France Ave.
- Ability to work Thursday evenings.
- Admitted to a Minnesota State University, Mankato graduate program by start date.
- Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) graduate credits per semester during assistantship, and in good academic standing.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills including communication skills.
- Basic technology skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
SALARY/STIPEND: $5,000.00 per semester (20 hours per week) and up to 9 credits of tuition waiver per semester (Fall/Spring).
RELATED INFORMATION:
Minnesota State System policy requires that graduate assistants must reside within the State of Minnesota for the duration of their appointment.
