Graduate Assistant: Student Affairs - Office of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management

RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DESCRIPTION: 

1. Create communications to showcase Student Affairs departments including Maverick Moments, Student Affairs Newsletters, Fraternity and Sorority Life Highlights, and Student Affairs Highlights.
2. Utilize Episerver, iMods, and Microsoft SharePoint to create and modify web content for Student Affairs.
3. Support Student Affairs assessment, evaluation, and planning through surveys and focus groups.
4. Analyze data on high school senior enrollment trends to drive admission outreach focus.
5. Collaborate with Student Affairs departments to support programming (Campus Recreation, Centennial Student Union and Student Activities, Counseling Center, Financial Aid, New Student and Family Programs, Registration and Academic Records, Residential Life, Student Conduct, Student Health Services, University Admissions, and University Security).
6. Participate in professional development opportunities to improve professional competencies.
7. Perform other administrative, program, or committee duties as agreed upon to improve the student experience.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • A Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience in student leadership, communication, or other related area.
  • Admitted to a Minnesota State University, Mankato graduate program by start date.
  • Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) graduate credits per semester during assistantship, and in good academic standing.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Enrollment in the College Student Affairs graduate program, or a related program.
  • Available for GA appointment for summer 2026.
  • Demonstrated technical ability with the use of personal computers and software including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office.
  • Interest in conducting research in the field of Student Affairs.
  • Demonstrated communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Capability to work autonomously and collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff with close attention to detail.
  • Strong time management and prioritizing skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.

SALARY/STIPEND: Up to $10,000 plus tuition stipends, dependent upon availability of funds, period of appointment, and assignment. Appointments made after the tenth day of classes are not eligible for a tuition waiver. 

RELATED INFORMATION: 

Position will be open until March 7, 2025, or until filled.

Contingent upon satisfactory performance and available funds, there is a possibility that this appointment may be continued beyond the initial period of employment.
