RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Assist prior to and during New International Student Orientations.
- Complete scheduled training for F-1 student regulations.
- Utilize TerraDotta software to process international student requests.
- Support KIC Immigration Advisors with processing requests and paperwork.
- Assist with retention initiatives to meet academic needs of at-risk international students.
- Assist with planning and facilitation of international cultural programming.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated technical ability with the use of personal computers and software including, but not limited to, all components of Microsoft Office.
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
- A bachelor's degree
- Admitted to a Minnesota State University, Mankato graduate program by start date.
- Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) graduate credits per semester during assistantship, and in good academic standing.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Flexibility and adaptability.
- Previous student service experience.
- Familiarity with MSU, Mankato policies/procedures.
- Aspiration to work in International Education/ISSS.
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
SALARY/STIPEND: Up to $10,000 plus tuition stipends, dependent upon availability of funds, period of appointment, and assignment. Appointments made after the tenth day of classes are not eligible for a tuition waiver.
RELATED INFORMATION:
Minnesota State System policy requires that graduate assistants must reside within the State of Minnesota for the duration of their appointment.
