Graduate Assistant for Master of Science in Athletic Training Program - Human Performance

RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DESCRIPTION: 

  • Serve as a teaching assistant for Sports Medicine Minor and other AT courses to provide instructional support during laboratory experiences.  
  • Assist with the following course labs: AT 608, 610, 612, 620, 671, 614, 622, 624, 672 and HP 340 & 415.  
  • Help the athletic training program with administrative needs, such as assisting with on-campus prospective student visits, assisting program faculty with marketing and social media, program inventory/maintenance, AT classroom and lab maintenance and with the transfer of equipment between laboratory locations.  
  • Help support the priorities academic affairs has identified by enhancing online course quality by assisting the instructor in maintaining regular and substantive interaction with students. 
  • Must commit to their GA/TA responsibilities for the full academic year at 20 hours per week and must be enrolled in the required graduate athletic training courses for the fall and spring semesters.
     

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Admission to the Master of Science in Athletic Training Program 
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 for the last two years of undergraduate work
  • Remain in good academic standing, at least a 3.0 GPA, at the graduate level 
  • Admitted to a Minnesota State University, Mankato graduate program by start date.
  • Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) graduate credits per semester during assistantship, and in good academic standing.

SALARY/STIPEND: Up to $10,000 plus tuition stipends, dependent upon availability of funds, period of appointment, and assignment. Appointments made after the tenth day of classes are not eligible for a tuition waiver. 

RELATED INFORMATION: 

Minnesota State System policy requires that graduate assistants must reside within the State of Minnesota for the duration of their appointment.
