RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DESCRIPTION: 

  • Assist faculty with 465 and 469
        -Assist faculty with guiding the event planning 
        -Execution and supervision of the event 
        -Project supervision 
        -Project management 
        -Obtaining readings for classes
        -Expanding cooperative educational partnerships with sport management                       organizations
  • Support research initiatives
  • Market the sport management program
  • Assist faculty with additional equity initiatives:
        -Increase student retention, persistence, and graduation rates
        -Increase the increase the awareness of the BS and MS programs with veterans           and adult-learners. 
        -Enhance diversity of guest speakers and panel members

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Admitted to the Sport Management Master's program.
  • An interest in developing students and contributing to the Sport Management program.
  • A bachelor's degree
  • Admitted to a Minnesota State University, Mankato graduate program by start date.
  • Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) graduate credits per semester during assistantship, and in good academic standing.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.

SALARY/STIPEND: Up to $10,000 plus tuition stipends, dependent upon availability of funds, period of appointment, and assignment. Appointments made after the tenth day of classes are not eligible for a tuition waiver. 

RELATED INFORMATION: 

Minnesota State System policy requires that graduate assistants must reside within the State of Minnesota for the duration of their appointment.
