International Communication Graduate Assistant- Kearney International Center

RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DESCRIPTION: 

The Graduate Assistant assists in carrying out the operations and activities of the KIC, which includes the following:

  • Assist with department social media for all KIC recruitment & retention programs and CELP.
  • Supervise Maverick Global Ambassadors.  
  • Oversee social media content and ensure they adhere to university branding standards.  
  • Plan & execute recruitment social media live sessions.
  • Assist with Kearney Center events and programs as needed.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.  
  • Demonstrated technical ability with the use of personal computers and software including, but not limited to, all components of Microsoft Office, Canva, Capcut, Adobe and other editing software
  • Ability to meet State of Minnesota Driver Vehicle eligibility (See the following website for vehicle consent form requirements: http://www.mnsu.edu/vehicles/ehicleonsentorm.html 
  • Admitted to a Minnesota State University, Mankato graduate program by start date.
  • Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) graduate credits per semester during assistantship, and in good academic standing.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Leadership experience of least one year in a recognized student organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to research, create, execute and assess activities and programs.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Experience in developing checklists and procedures for events/activities.
  • Available to work some evenings and weekends, have a flexible schedule.
  • Familiarity with MSU, Mankato event/scheduling/space/food policies.
  • Experience collaborating with other campus offices or community schools/organizations.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with promoting events.
  • Experience with design of posters, promotional materials.
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.

SALARY/STIPEND: Up to $10,000 plus tuition stipends, dependent upon availability of funds, period of appointment, and assignment. Appointments made after the tenth day of classes are not eligible for a tuition waiver. 

RELATED INFORMATION: 

Minnesota State System policy requires that graduate assistants must reside within the State of Minnesota for the duration of their appointment.
