RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DESCRIPTION: 

Minnesota State University, Mankato is committed to increasing the diversity of its student body, providing equitable access to opportunities and resources, and creating supportive and inclusive educational environments. The Equity 2030 Graduate Assistantship (GA) Program is designed with the goal of supporting students from underrepresented groups in higher education and is open to all students. The program is focused on ensuring the full development of students as professionals through a combination of financial support and quality mentoring by engaged faculty.  

Each year, up to four (4) new graduate students who meet the required qualifications below will be awarded full-time graduate assistantships. Applicants must be admitted to a program of graduate study at the time of application and identify a project or area of interest related to teaching, research, or program support the student would like to work on during their graduate study. Program staff will do their best to find a member of the faculty or staff to support the student. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • A bachelor's degree
  • Admitted to a Minnesota State University, Mankato graduate program by start date.
  • Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) graduate credits per semester during assistantship, and in good academic standing.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.

SALARY/STIPEND: Up to $10,000 plus tuition stipends, dependent upon availability of funds, period of appointment, and assignment. Appointments made after the tenth day of classes are not eligible for a tuition waiver.

Minnesota State System policy requires that graduate assistants must reside within the State of Minnesota for the duration of their appointment.
